The Lakes Region Conservation Trust and the Squam Lakes Conservation Society (SLCS) have completed a 13-acre conservation easement on the Michael Preserve in Sandwich!
About
The Preserve, owned and stewarded by the SLCS, connects to a 1,000+ acre network of conservation lands touching Intervale and Kusumpe Ponds. The Preserve encompasses a large pollinator field, two streams, forested wetlands and floodplain, and a mature forest east of Thompson Brook framed by impressive stone walls. The conservation easement, held by LRCT, further protects the land and supports SLCS’s goal of returning it to its natural condition.
