Whiteface Mountain Conservation Easement
Wolfeboro, NH
The Lakes Region Conservation Trust has received a conservation easement on three key parcels of land on Whiteface Mountain in Wolfeboro. The easement, donated by the Town of Wolfeboro through its Conservation Commission and by the Land Bank of Wolfeboro-Tuftonboro, Inc., ensures the permanent protection of 118 acres of land, including a one-mile trail and the summit of Whiteface. Future generations will be able to have the chance to enjoy this trail and the stunning view from the top. The opportunity to protect this important landscape has been made possible by the hard work and generosity of the Town and the Land Bank.

Red Hill River Conservation Area Expansion Project
Sandwich, NH
The Lakes Region Conservation Trust is pleased to announce the acquisition of the 26-acre Myers family property along the Red Hill River in Sandwich. This project conserves valuable natural habitat and climate change resilient lands, protects 2,000 feet of frontage along the Red Hill River and water quality in the River, provides opportunities of walking and nature observation, and preserves historic resources. In addition, the project expands LRCT’s 416-acre Red Hill River Conservation Area, which abuts the 176-acre Myers-Schneider property on which the Town of Sandwich holds a conservation easement, resulting in a 618-acre unfragmented area along the Red Hill River and its tributaries.
