Bridgewater Hill Properties
Bridgewater, NH
Conservation of land on Bridgewater Hill has long been a high priority for the Lakes Region Conservation Trust, and we are honored to work with a group of extraordinarily generous landowners on LRCT’s first conservation projects in Bridgewater. Four neighboring owners have joined together to conserve approximately 170 acres, helping to protect water quality, important habitat, and climate resilient lands and preserve the scenic qualities and character of Bridgewater Hill.

Bear Mountain Conservation Area
Hebron, NH
LRCT has conserved 80 acres of a key densely-forested property with cliff and talus slope habitat on the shoulder of Bear Mountain in Hebron. Conservation of this parcel, with abutting land already subject to development restrictions, has resulted in the protection of over 200 contiguous acres on the slopes of Bear Mountain overlooking Newfound Lake. We are extraordinarily grateful to generous donors, including the John Gemmill Newfound Fund, and local volunteers whose dedication to conservation in the Newfound Watershed made it possible for LRCT to acquire this land.

John M. and Eileen R. Weeks Conservation Project
Gilford, NH
The Lakes Region Conservation Trust, in partnership with the Gilford Conservation Commission, has completed the conservation of the 65-acre John M. and Eileen R. Weeks Property, located on the western slope of Gunstock Mountain in Gilford, NH. With the help of two $5,000 grant challenge grants, one from the Samuel P. Pardoe Foundation and another from an anonymous donor, along with funds approved by the Gilford Conservation Commission, and private donations, we closed on this property in November 2020. The Weeks property abuts 9,000 acres of existing conservation land in and adjacent to the Belknap Mountain Range.
