Red Hill Conservation Area Workday – Help Uncover a Cellar Hole

Please join Red Hill Conservation Area Property Adopter John Oliver and Cindy Stanton and Ken Hill on October 17th from 9am-1pm for a workday at the Red Hill Conservation Area to help clear a trail and uncover 2-3 cellar holes that have become overgrown off of the Cabin Trail on Red Hill (< 1 mile hike from the lower Red Hill parking lot on Red Hill road). These stone remnants are the foundations of the Cook property and Inn, settled by a veteran of the American Revolution and his family. We will also mount posts for future installation of historical signage. Deep in these woods, we can still see lilac and rose bushes, apple trees and in the spring, day lilies, as reminders of the family homesteads that once stood here. We hope you can join us! For planning purposes, please let us know if you can make it. Would love to see you there.
