Guided Hike: Homestead Forest

Join us Saturday, September 25th, at 8:45am, for a guided hike in the Homestead Forest Conservation Area. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the history of the property and discover many notable natural features.

Phil Preston, LRCT’s Property Adopter for Homestead Forest, along with LRCT staff member, Micaelie O’Hare, will lead our hike on and off-trail through forestland over approximately 2 miles of undulating topography and uneven ground. We will explore old roadbeds and narrow, wooded paths. Along the way, we will witness remnants of an old homestead, speculate on the change in land use over the centuries, and discover many notable natural features. Participants should be comfortable hiking off-trail and on steep sections of trail.

Registration: Registration is required for this event and will be limited to 12 participants. Please register by sending an email to LRCT Stewardship Support and Outreach Coordinator, Micaelie O’Hare at mohare@lrct.org and include the following information:

  • Name (First and Last)
  • Cellphone Number
  • Whether or not you are a LRCT member

You are allowed to sign up one additional participant. If you would like to sign up more than one additional person, please call the office at (603)253-3301 and we can see if we can accommodate you.
