Moving Field Guide

 April 13, 2024 • 9:00 – 11:00 am

Teaching Artist Gaynelle Gosselin of See Change Dance and Demetrius Klein Dance Company/DIY Projects will lead a Moving Field Guide at the Shannon Brook Trail from 9 to 11 a.m. on April 13, 2024. Participants should arrive at the Castle in the Clouds Conservation Area lower parking lot located on Route 171 by 9 a.m.

More than a nature walk, a Moving Field Guide is an immersive learning experience for people of all ages. As participants learn about the ecology of the brooks that feed into Lake Winnipesaukee, teaching artist Gaynelle Gosselin, will guide them in creating movement and gestures based on their observations. Ms. Gosselin is a performing artist with over a decade of experience in arts integrated education.

This experience is a lead-up event for National Water Dances, a nationwide initiative to bring communities together using dance and creative movement to raise awareness about issues facing our nation’s waters. Participants at the Moving Field Guide will be invited to join in the performance, which will take place at Hesky Park on Meredith Bay on April 20. This is the first year that New Hampshire will be represented in National Water Dances.
