Join LRCT Guide Scott Powell on a guided hike to explore the Smyth Easement, a 148-acre property with a conservation easement held by LRCT that lies west of Lake Wicwas.

The property includes the summit of Arbutus Hill which offers views of the Ossipee Range, Red Hill, and the White Mountains. You will also travel through land conserved by the town of Meredith and visit Crockett’s Ledge with views of Lakes Wicwas and Winnisquam and the Belknap Range. Depending on weather, the group may also visit White Mountain Ledge which has views from Mt. Lafayette to Mt. Chocorua. Along the way you’ll see vernal pools, beaver ponds, and look for signs of moose, raptors, and other wildlife.

This will be a 4-5-mile hike with 540-780 feet of total elevation change.
