Grab your binoculars and join us on Friday, May 19th at 8:00am for a guided birding hike at the Castle in the Clouds Conservation Area. Join Ken Klapper, co-author of the recently published Birds of the Squam Lakes Region, for a stroll around the pond, meadow, and woodland trails to look and listen for the delightful variety of avian species that can be found here during peak migration!
Expect an easy to moderate hike of 2-3 miles with frequent stops.
Registration: Registration is required for this event. Please complete our Google Form by clicking the “Sign Up” button below. You will receive a confirmation email, which may take 1-3 days.
Additional Information
Bring/Wear: We ask that participants wear sturdy, waterproof footwear for uneven terrain. Bring water, snacks, and dress appropriately for the weather. You may consider bringing insect repellent and sunscreen. Don’t forget to bring your binoculars!
Cost: All LRCT guided events are free
Children’s Participation: Please check in with us in advance if you are considering bringing young children on a guided excursion to ensure the trip is appropriate for their skill level.
Dog Policy: To ensure the safety and comfort of participants, we are not able to accommodate dogs on our trips.
Cancellation: In the event of inclement weather, you will be notified of the cancellation via email by 5:00pm Thursday, May 18th.
