Join local professional birder Kelly Hansen for a morning of hiking and birding at the Castle in the Clouds Conservation Area in Moultonborough. May is the peak of spring migration in the Lakes Region, so there will be an abundance of birds recently arrived from the neotropics, avian travelers stopping by on their way to the Canadian boreal forests, as well as our favorite year-round residents. The diverse habitat, including Shannon Brook and Pond, large grassy fields, and extensive mature forests will yield a variety of birds for us to enjoy and learn from! Expect a moderate hike of around two miles with frequent stops.
Participants of all skill levels are welcome! Please bring your own binoculars, sunscreen, water, and bug spray.
