The LRCT Board recently voted to oppose the removal of the daytime speed limit lake on Lake Winnipesaukee (House Bill 448). The Board believes that a safe boating environment on the Lake is vitally important to the public’s ability to visit and enjoy LRCT’s conserved lands on Winnipesaukee and thus to the effectiveness and success of LRCT’s land conservation efforts on the Lake.
On March 8, the New Hampshire House Resources, Recreation, and Development Committee voted 18-0 “Inexpedient to Legislate” on House Bill 448, meaning that the Committee members voted to kill the bill. However, the bill still has to be voted on by the full House of Representatives, and that vote may occur as soon as March 16.
