Active and Recent Projects

The Lakes Region Conservation Trust is currently pursuing additional significant land conservation opportunities, including efforts to conserve mountain summits and ridgelines, scenic shorelines, key wildlife habitat, and agricultural lands. LRCT, with tremendous assistance from many dedicated volunteers, has also initiated a number of ambitious stewardship and educational projects on conserved properties. A few of these active and recent projects are/will soon be highlighted below.

Conservation of the Bald Mountain Property in the Ossipee Mountains

LRCT is currently working to conserve a remote, wild, and pristine 157-acre parcel on Bald Mountain in the northern Ossipee Mountains. This project will expand LRCT's Ossipee Mountain Preserve, bringing LRCT's total conserved acreage in the Ossipees to over 8,575 acres. Conservation of this property will fill an important gap in the Ossipee Mountains land already conserved by LRCT and other organizations and individuals. This project also contributes to efforts to preserve significant wildlife habitat in the Ossipee Mountains and the corridor connecting the Ossipees to the White Mountains.
